In the upcoming weeks, I’ll be seeing a physical therapist who specializes in climbing injuries. My goals for this appointment:
- Exercises that will specifically improve and increase strength in areas needed for climbing
- Assess and address severity of current pain and discomfort
- Get their opinion about what I need to be mindful of while climbing and what I should be doing to improve and increase recovery (I’m a terribly slow healer)
I woke up today with tenderness in some of my fingers. Saturdays are usually a day spent at the climbing gym watching my boyfriend boulder. Sometimes, I lift weights and do some physical therapy exercises while I wait. But, he’s not home this weekend, so I think I’ll rest my hands and give them some extra time to recover before my next climbing day.
| Activity/Plan | Notes |
|---|---|
| Sleep | Awful (maybe 4 hours?) |
| Exercise | Light stretching, at most, maybe a little loading on the fingers |
| Nutrition | Need to eat more and drink more water! |
