Weekly Update: January 26, 2026 – February 1, 2026

Not a bad week. Climbed two days and did weight training and finger training at least 4 days this week!

Fingers

My fingers are a little upset with me. I have some pain and tenderness in various fingers but nothing substantial and nothing that worries me about climbing again this week. That’s good news. Trying to find the balance between being active and not overdoing it can be difficult.

Weather

The weather is changing in Southern California. We’re moving into a drier, hotter season and the weather, especially air pressure, can impact my energy and body. Think the old wives’ tale about feeling an ache in the back when the weather changes.

Sleep

I haven’t been sleeping well, especially with the heat coming in and my regular pains. Definitely need to work on that. I’m getting another blood test done later this week, so I will, hopefully, know more in a few weeks when the results come in.

Infusion

It is also infusion week. I usually am more tired the week prior to my infusion, which is when my immune system is at its lowest. Everything considered, I think I’m doing okay. I’m counting on my infusion to get help with the feeling of being “run down” and boost my energy a little bit.

My goals for the upcoming week:

  • Weight lift at least twice
  • Drink less soda (I’ve been trying to compensate for my low energy with sugary drinks)
  • Climb one 5.8 per climb session
  • Start shutting down the house 30 minutes earlier to avoid super late nights
